The QBJ Thermal Oxidation Units are designed to continuously incinerate still effluents from glycol dehydrators and amine units. The QBJ TO design introduces excess air mixed with the heated still effluents so that combustion and destruction occur at the operational temperature of between 1300°F and 1500°F. Our designed is based upon a 2 second retention time in order to assure a continuously thermal destruction of the hydrocarbon effluents from TEG and Amine regenerator in order to meet current environmental requirements for BTEX destruction.

The Still Column effluents enter the unit through kimray three-way valves mounted by the customer on the Still Column effluent lines. The effluents enter the bottom of the heater and exit at the top. The heater design prevents liquid carry over into main combustion chamber. The hot effluent vapors are then piped to the combustion chamber where incineration occurs. The incineration products are released to the atmosphere via a refractory lined stack. The stack gases are cooled by the addition of air from a blower mounted on the stack. This prevents the stack gases from exiting at the temperature that is potentially dangerous from a standpoint of accidental ignition of free hydrocarbon vapors at the site.
